| Information: | Ausflug in frühe Techno-Tage und ein Tribut an Detroit, Chicago und Glasgow. Jackmasters Karriere geht konstant steil nach oben. 2010 wurde der schottische DJ und Labelbetreiber (Numbers) vom renommierten "DJ Mag" zum "Breakthrough DJ des Jahres" ernannt. Und bei "Resident Advisor" landete er in der Jahresbestenliste 2015 schon auf Platz 5. Kein Wunder, Jackmasters eklektische Partymixtur aus Dubstep, House, Garage und Techno ist wildes Dancefloor-Futter. Wie das Feierbiest unlängst dem "Groove"-Magazin in einem Interview berichtete, ist das Auflegen für ihn "Beruf und Sucht zugleich". Nichts hasst der Mann aus Glasgow, der den "Ruf des Crowdpleasers" genießt, mehr, als ein auflegefreies Wochenende. Für seine "DJ-Kicks"-Version hat Jackmaster tief in der Plattenkiste gegraben. Seine Zusammenstellung ist stark durch frühe Party- und DJ-Erfahrungen geprägt: "The mix is influenced heavily by how I used to DJ at the first party I ever promoted, named Seismic, and another named Monox which was a straight up techno night where I was a resident from the age of 17." Obwohl es konzeptionell so nicht geplant war, entwickelte sich Jackmasters Mix mit Tracks von u.a. Robert Hood, Mike Dunn, Dennis Sulta, Tomahawk, Lory D, Ricardo Villalobos und Basic Channel zu einem Tribut an die Städte, die ihn zum DJ formten: Detroit, Chicago und Glasgow. |
